Student Veterans of America Cookout draws in JU community

I would like to thank our JU students, faculty, staff and alumni for the tremendous turnout at the Student Veterans of America Cookout this past Wednesday. The SVA team was pleasantly surprised by the attendance. The purpose was to help veterans transitioning from military to civilian and university life mingle with the JU community.

The veterans enjoyed the friendly welcome. They have unique struggles they face in reintegrating to civilian life.  The opportunity to get to know the general student body, faculty, staff and alumni was very therapeutic for them and will greatly help with their transition. Knowing we have support from the JU community is very refreshing.

Please continue to reach out to our veterans and get to know us on a personal basis. It is much appreciated. We are looking forward to working with the JU community in our Toys for Tots drive.  We warmly welcome the entire JU community to join us as we wrap up our Toys for Tots drive and celebrate the Holidays at our “Ugly Sweater” Holiday Party (see event flyer below).  The event is from 8 to 11 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Alumni House on campus.  Thanks again for all the support.

Warmest regards,
