The Florida Times-Union’s Charlie Patton has a July 16 profile on scholar, musician, writer and Jacksonville University adjunct Prof. Michael Ray Fitzgerald.
Being an author is among Dr. Fitzgerald’s five part-time jobs, which include teaching public speaking at JU. Fitzgerald recently wrote a book tentatively titled “Enter the Regulator: Native American Stereotypes on U.S. Television,” for which he put in an immense amount of time researching television portrayals of Native Americans.
From “The Lone Ranger” to “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “I had to watch a lot more bad television than I wanted,” Fitzgerald told Patton.
Patton’s article is titled, “Reinventing himself a way of life for Jacksonville’s Michael Ray Fitzgerald”; click here to read it.
