JU Scholarship Week in full swing through Feb. 1 at Davis Student Commons

JU Student Solutions Center Assistant Director DaVina Hamilton (center) assists sophomore aviation major Valentin Romero of Caracas, Venezuela (left) and junior biology major Morgan Derner of Lake Mary, Fla., on Wednesday, Jan. 30, during Scholarship Week at Davis Student Commons.

Thanks to the Jacksonville University Student Solutions Center, finding a scholarship has never been easier for JU students.

From critiquing essays that are required as part of the JU scholarship application process to helping identify scholarships opportunities nationwide, the Student Solutions Center is guiding students through the entire application process from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily during JU Scholarship Week, which began Monday, Jan. 28 and ends Friday, Feb. 1. Also on hand are representatives from Financial Aid, TRiO Student Support Service, Study Abroad and the World Affairs Council.

While students are encouraged to bring their laptop if they have one, plenty of computers are available. Attendees are eligible for prizes, including a $600 book scholarship for the fall semester.

The JU Common Scholarship application and information about scholarship opporunities are avialable at www.ju.edu/scholarships. For information on Scholarship Week, contact DaVina Hamilton at dhamilt3@ju.edu or (904) 256-7700.
