Jacksonville University Adjunct Acting Prof. Jason Nettle will perform his one-man show about 9/11 on Nov. 4 at Swisher Theater on campus.
Nettle’s “9/11: We Will Never Forget” was profiled in the Florida Times-Union before his Sept. 9 performance of it at Alhambra Theatre & Dining, where Nettle is the stage manager. He lived in New York at the time of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Nettle spent six months researching and four months writing “9/11 We Will Never Forget,” and performed it for the first time on 9/11’s 10th anniversary. In the show, Nettle portrays 17 New Yorkers who were affected by the day’s events in different ways.
“This show will allow you to look into 17 drastically different points of view of the millions that are out there and touch on the humanity and unity we experienced in the minutes, hours, and days after this horrible ordeal,” said JU College of Fine Arts Dean Bill Hill.
The show contains strong language and graphic details.
The performance is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and military personnel, $5 for children and students, and admission is free for JU students, faculty and staff.
Tickets are available at the Swisher box office or by calling (904) 256-7374.
