Jacksonville University will host the St. Jude “Give thanks. Walk,” an annual fund-raiser held on the same day in 90 cities across the country, on Saturday, Nov. 17. This is Jacksonville’s inaugural walk, and Jacksonville University was selected as the host venue because of our beautiful Dolphin Green and new Strom Amphitheater.
The walk is free to register, and registrations can be taken the day of the event. St. Jude is expecting about 250 walkers this year from the Jacksonville community. This includes Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a collegiate and service organization for men and women, the Delta Delta Delta Alumnae Chapter of Jacksonville, current St. Jude patients and supporters, as well as JU students, faculty and staff. Each walker is given a pair of lime green shoelaces for the walk. Because the walk is free, walkers are encouraged to raise money in return for incentives.
