Hot topic: Goblet virtuoso Austin Littenberg guides JU Glass Program students

Hotshop Artist Austin Littenberg recently spent time as a visiting artist in the Glass Institute in the College of Fine Arts, inspiring students of Assistant Art Professor Brian Frus with his skills and mentoring them in producing the highest-quality specialty glassware. Demos focused on Venetian techniques and making goblets, talents Littenberg acquired after being introduced to goblets by Italian lampworking master Emilio Santini in 2004, at The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass.

Littenberg has worked as a studio technician at the Toledo Museum of Art’s Glass Pavilion, while assisting many artists privately, teaching classes and working on his own creations, and now works full-time as a hotshop glassblower, instructor and designer at The Melting Point in Sedona, Ariz.
