Congratulations to January JU Employee of the Month Makhbulla Amirova

Makhbulla Amirova (back row, fifth from left), a Physical Plant housekeeper at Wilma's Little People's School, is Jacksonville University's January employee of the month.
Congratulations to JU Employee of the Month Makhbulla Amirova, a JU Physical Plant housekeeper at Wilma’s Little People School.

Amirova was serenaded Tuesday, Jan. 21, by a group of children from Wilma’s Little People School (WLPS) with the song “Skidamarink” after receiving the award from school Director Jeanine Garrett. Amirova has worked for JU for one year.

“Wilma’s Little People’s School requires efficient, timely and extensive attention to housekeeping needs, not only to help us provide a safe and healthy place for our children, but also because it is required by the Florida Department of Children and Families in order to maintain our license to operate,” Garrett said in her nomination of Amirova for the monthly award. “Makhbulla makes every effort to see that we exceed licensing standards by going above and beyond with her housekeeping efforts.

“Makhbulla is a person who seems to consider her housekeeping duties at WLPS to be a privilege. She not only does her job, she happily excels at doing it. We are grateful for Makhbulla, who keeps WLPS a healthy, safe and attractive place for our children.”

JU employees of the month receive a $50 cash award, an extra day off, an award certificate signed by the JU president, and reserved parking for a month. To nominate an employee, go to the Human Resources Employee Recognition Program page on the JU Web site, or contact Human Resources at (904) 256-7025.
