Congratulations to Jacksonville University’s September employee of the month, Candace Bowser

Bowser is the quality assurance specialist for Sodexo in JU’s Physical Plant; she has worked for Sodexo since August 2011. She is repsonsible for answering calls from JU staff who issues and concerns to resolve; dispatching calls to the Physical Plant’s carpentry, mechanical and housekeeping departments; and prioritizing work orders.

“Candace is a joy to work with,” Stacee Vestal of JU’s Department of Science and Math wrote in her nomination of Bowser for the award. “She fields calls from throughout campus and always finds a solution. Most importantly, she does her job with a positive attitude and a smile you can through the phone. She’s a lifesaver!”

“Candace gets things done,” Vestal also wrote. “No matter what the request is, she doesn’t stop until the problem is solved.”

Bowser says she’s content when the customer is content.

“I like knowing that when someone calls about an issue and I can get it resolved and they’re happy,” she said. “That really makes my day.”

JU employees of the month receive a $50 cash award, an extra day off, an award certificate signed by the JU president, and reserved parking for a month.
