Brumos Circle of Excellence students gain a window into an industry with visit to Haskell

Brumos Circle of Excellence students recently got an inside view of design-build industry leader Haskell when they visited with executives at the Jacksonville company’s downtown offices.  John Paul Saenz, Industrial Group President, and Don Baldwin, Senior VP/Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, hosted the group with a highly informative talk.

“Mr. Saenz and Mr. Baldwin executed a great presentation about the company’s culture, history and future strategic planning. It was an experience that I would do again in a heartbeat. These encounters help expand knowledge about real-life economics, business development, finance, business analysis and more,” BCOE member Timur Rakhmatov said.

Students were able to ask questions during the presentation and benefited from insightful answers.

“Being a building and design company, a business major student might not consider this type of industry when looking for employment,” said BCOE member Armando Olmeda. “But after learning of the capabilities and range of a company of this caliber, I immediately thought how I could contribute to their growth and development.”

The Brumos Circle of Excellence is made up of a select group of undergraduate and graduate business students from the Davis College of Business who are in the top 5 percent of their classes.

Haskell, one of the country’s leading integrated design, engineering and construction firms, serves the industrial, commercial, government and civil infrastructure markets domestically and globally. It recently marked its 50th anniversary with a celebration for more than 800 employees and their families.
