Bowser leaving JU to become Sodexo’s GM at Lynn University

Brian Bowser

Sodexo Area Executive Chef Brian Bowser is leaving his Jacksonville University post to become Sodexo’s general manager at Lynn University in Baca Raton, Fla.

Bowser’s last day on the job at JU is June 28; he has been Sodexo’s executive chef at JU since 2008 and has worked for Sodexo, which has food service operations worldwide, for eight years.

“We are sad to see Brian go and appreciate the time and effort he has given.  He has provided leadership and innovation in culinary standards at JU,” said Ashley Curry, Sodexo’s general manager at JU.

A West Virginia native, Bowser said his experience at JU has been an integral part of his career development.

“Being given the opportunity to create a unique atmosphere in dining and catering has been tremendous,” he said. “I have met some amazing people in every department, and look forward to hearing about the great developments on the horizon here at JU.

“I am thankful for all of the students, faculty, department heads and administration for their feedback, support and cooperation over the years.  The pleasure has truly been mine. I will always have a special place in my heart for Jacksonville University.”

A former restaurant owner, Bowser is a graduate of Sullivan University in Louisville, Ky., with degrees in culinary arts and professional catering/business management. He and his wife, Corinne, have two children – both of whom attended Wilma’s Little People School.

Curry said Sodexo is conducting a nationwide search for an executive chef. The position is expected to be filled by early August, she said.
