When: 4:30-5:30 p.m. Oct. 16, 17, 19 and 23 (fourth date if needed)

Where: Jacksonville University Davis College of Business conference rooms, 2800 University Blvd. N.

Background: As JU nears the end of its national search for a new president, it will hold Community Receptions for the finalists, open to the public and media. Attendees will learn more about the candidates and may ask questions of them. Light refreshments will be served.

A presidential search firm received applications since April from more than 80 candidates. The names of the 3-4 finalists, their biographies and photos will be released Thursday, Oct. 11. JU’s Board of Trustees will make a final decision on the position toward the end of the month.

The new president will take office effective July 1, 2013, replacing outgoing JU President Kerry Romesburg, who announced his retirement after a 45-year higher education career. Romesburg arrived in 2004 at one of the most turbulent fiscal periods in the University’s history and is credited with putting JU on track for long-term financial stability and growth.
