Welcome Kevin Hogencamp, new Assistant Director of News and Publications

Please welcome Kevin Hogencamp, a University of Alabama communications alumnus, as our new Assistant Director of News and Publications, working in JU’s Marketing and Communications Office. He’ll be working alongside JU Director of News and Publications Phillip Milano and replaces the very capable Kristi Mace Sorrow, who relocated to South Florida this summer.

New JU Assistant Director of News and Publications Kevin Hogencamp

Kevin, who started Monday, Sept. 10, has more than 25 years’ experience in journalism and communications. He worked as a reporter for  the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle and The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville; columnist for the Beaches Leader in Jacksonville Beach; reporter and city editor for the Moultrie (Ga.) Observer; metro editor of the Albany (Ga.) Herald; and publisher of the Albany  Journal. He also served as public information manager and assistant city manager for the city of Albany.

His community leadership positions include serving as the Leadership Albany board of directors chairman, Albany Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration co-chairman, Albany Community Oriented Policing Council co-chairman, Southwest Georgia Dixie Youth Baseball district director, and Albany-Lake Park Elementary School PTO treasurer. He is an Albany Marathon founding board member.

Kevin and his wife, Suzanne, have two children, Garrett and Abby. They live in Jacksonville Beach.
