Record turnout at Spring JU Student Organization Fair

Student groups turned out in record numbers at the recent JU Student Organization Fair in front of Davis Student Commons.

“We had our largest turnout, with more than 25 student organizations being represented,” said Josh Earley, director of Student Involvement & Leadership (SIL).

Students had the chance to learn about various organizations and involvement opportunities on campus, Earley said.

The next Student Organization Fair will be held in the fall semester. For questions or inquiries regarding student organizations, call 256-7520 or e-mail silhelp@ju.edu.

Student Involvement & Leadership, located on the third floor of Davis Student Commons, is made up of five main areas: Student Activities, Student Organizations, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Recreational Sports and the Davis Student Commons.

According to its web page, SIL’s vision is “To inspire and empower the students of Jacksonville University to pursue a meaningful, balanced and successful life.” Its mission is to “foster an active and vibrant campus community.  We enhance the social, intellectual, physical, cultural and spiritual development of our students.  We enrich the discovery, exchange and application of knowledge through practical learning experiences.”
