JU Study Abroad unveils 2013 Spring Break opportunities

JU Study Abroad will venture to Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and Dominica from March 15-23 during spring break 2013.

The Puerto Rico and Costa Rica programs are open to all students of any major. Each program will offer a three-credit course that will meet during the spring semester each week leading up to the trip. While on site, students will have the opportunity to complete a service learning project with a local group or school. Students will also have on-site lectures and educational excursions to learn more about the country and culture.

Puerto Rico program participants can choose to take their class as international studies or geography credit. Costa Rica program participants can choose to take their class as sociology or international studies.

Spring break in Dominica is specifically designed for nursing students. Students will take a two-credit nursing elective course which provides a comparative perspective on the healthcare systems of Dominica and the United States. Nursing students will have the opportunity to visit local hospitals and clinics and experience the beautiful beaches and culture of the Caribbean.

Students interested in participating on any of these spring break programs should submit their application and deposit in the Study Abroad office (Gooding 105) by Dec. 1. Spaces fill up quickly, so reserve your space today.
