JU Shooting Team, Winter Alumni Gathering in spotlight this Sunday on WJXT!

Tune in to WJXT TV-4’s Morning Show at 8 a.m. this Sunday to catch JU Varsity Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap Team Coach David Dobson, Team Captain Scott Hensley and JU Director of Alumni Relations Shirin Brenick discuss the University’s shooting team and its role in the upcoming Winter Alumni Gathering event Feb. 15-17.

WAG, as it’s called, will feature skeet shooting with the JU shooting team, a chance to “play” with the Davis Aviation Center’s new $500,000, state-of-the-art aviation simulator and a swing (or two, or more) on JU’s new Swisher Golf Practice Facility. In addition, other events occurring during WAG weekend include a rival basketball game against UNF Friday evening, as well as softball games and baseball games Saturday. There’s also the Moe’s Southwest Lacrosse Classic, in which JU will play Ohio State on Sunday.

A WJXT camera crew will be out this Friday filming footage of the shooting team practicing.

“This is huge for JU and the team,” Dobson said.
