JU MBA grad John West appointed to railway organization board of governors

Jacksonville University alumnus John L. West, CSX’s vice president of engineering, has been elected to the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Board of Governors.

AREMA is the standards-setting organization for rail engineering.

West, who received a Master of Business Administration degree from JU in 1997 and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, N.J., has been in the railroad industry since 1976. From 1996 to 2008, he held various positions at CSX Technology, including director of telecom services, director and assistant vice president of distributed systems, and CSX Technology president.

He has served as vice president of engineering since 2008.
