JU's Dr. Richard J. Cebula

In rankings produced by the highly followed Research Papers in Economics project (http://repec.org), Cebula came in at No. 129 among thousands of scholars, with a whopping 1,278 total weighted number of journal pages produced as of March of this year.

“Dr. Cebula is one of America’s truly great economists, and JU is proud to see him prominently on so many lists as a world-renowned thought leader,” said JU Davis College of Business Dean Don Capener. “He has moved fluidly into finance during his tenure at JU from his ground-breaking work in econometrics while at Emory University in Atlanta.”

Cebula, the Walker/Wells Fargo Professor of Finance at DCOB, came to JU three years ago, and his research prowess has resulted in his being named a contributing editor to some of the world’s best academic journals. He is currently writing two finance books. Cebula joined JU after 18 years at Emory University, seven years at Georgia Tech and, most recently, after serving as the Shirley & Philip Solomons Eminent Scholar in Economics for 11 years at Armstrong Atlantic University.

Research Papers in Economics is a volunteer-driven initiative to create a public-access database that promotes scholarly communication in economics and related disciplines. The collaborative effort uses hundreds of volunteers in 75 countries to enhance the information dissemination.
