JU Aviation to participate in Sept. 28 career expo at Delta Flight Museum

Jacksonville University will join Aerosim Flight Academy and ExpressJet Airlines in hosting the BeAPilot Career Expo at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 28. JU Davis Aviation Center Director Dr. Juan Merkt will be on hand representing JU.

The event is being billed as “a day of discovery and insight into a career in aviation from airline leaders and aviation support groups.”

Sanford, Fla.-based Aerosim Flight Academy is JU’s long-term training school partner and ExpressJet is the largest employer of JU aviation graduates. JU recently signed a pilot hiring agreement with ExpressJet that which eventually leads students to a guaranteed interview with Delta Air Lines.

The free career fair is designed for high school students – particularly to those at schools with aviation programs, along with aviation students who are changing schools and others interested in aviation careers.

Along with Jacksonville University and Aeorism, representatives from Delta and aviation interest groups such as the Tuskegee Airmen, Women in Aviation and Civil Air Patrol will attend the career fair.

The career fair is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For information, call (404) 773-1219.
