The Jacksonville University College of Fine Arts presents the JU Wind Ensemble in a spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, in Terry Concert Hall on the JU campus. The concert is free to the public.
The 30-member group of JU students, conducted by Prof. Artie Clifton, will feature the premiere performance of Dr. William Schirmer’s “Symphony No. 12,” written especially for the ensemble.
The concert will also feature outstanding JU senior Michael Bertot performing a concerto titled “Sapphire” by Catherine McMichael for alto saxophone and wind ensemble.
Other works on the concert include Darius Milhaud’s “Suite Francaise,” Samuel Hazo’s “Parkour,” and “Quidditch” by John Williams from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
