Dr. Hugh Van Seaton, a Jacksonville University Davis College of Business resource professor of accounting and finance, has been selected as a Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF) Research Committee member.
Established in 1944, FERF is the research affiliate of Financial Executives International (FEI). FERF is a non-profit, non-political, educational organization that educates senior-level financial executives and advances the profession through research. FERF provides timely, relevant, practical, objective and educational research that gives the senior-level financial executive an extra edge in the fast-paced, ever-changing world of corporate finance.
Dr. Seaton has a Bachelor of Science degree in business and public administration from University of Missouri, a Master of Science degree in commerce from St. Louis University, and a doctorate degree with a cognate in accounting from the University of North Florida. He has a diverse background in corporate finance and accounting, with experience in commercial and international banking, investment banking, and government finance. His teaching and research interests include performance management, organizational theory, Six Sigma and continuous process improvement.
Dr. Seaton serves the community in his role as an audit committee member for Community First Credit Union of Florida, as a member of the board of the FEI Northern Florida Chapter, and also as a member of the Board of Governors for the Northeast Florida Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
