Surprise! Art Director Donald dela Torre is JU December Employee of the Month

JU’s Marketing and Communications Department pulled a fast one this week on its Art Director, Donald dela Torre.

dela Torre thought he was going to Human Resources to take photos of HR’s Judy Ganyo receiving the award, but it turned out he was being named JU December Employee of the Month instead.

JU Designer Maren Tith snuck out of a side room to capture dela Torre’s bewildered expression as Vice President of University Relations Derek Hall awarded him his certificate.

“Donald has been a great addition to the marketing team,” Hall said later. “He is always going above and beyond in his job. We are very lucky to have him on staff.”

JU employees of the month receive a $50 cash award, an extra day off, an award certificate signed by the JU President, and reserved parking for a month.
