“We have selected 40 students who have excelled in the classroom while continuously developing their leadership skills,” Business Dean Dr. Don Capener wrote in the issue. “These students will undoubtedly be the leaders of tomorrow, even perhaps in your organization. Some will continue their current career path and others are looking for employers where they can make a maximum impact.”

A profile of each student was placed in the magazine highlighting their career aspirations, professional and academic accomplishments and ideal work environment. Students were selected based on their grade point average, campus and professional leadership accomplishments and faculty recommendations. Partner Northwestern Mutual funded a behavioral assessment tool to help students better understand their strengths, decision-making characteristics and areas of improvement. In addition, a professional meet-and-greet was scheduled for students and members of the business community, with a goal of fostering long-lasting relationships in Jacksonville.JU Top 40 cover
