JU School of Nursing students achieve 98.65% state exam pass rate, one of highest in Florida

Students in Jacksonville University’s signature Nursing program achieved a 98.65 percent calendar-year state licensure exam pass rate for 2012, one of the top outcomes in the state.

The pass rate compares to a national average for all baccalaureate programs of 92.07 percent.

“This is an incredible achievement and attests to the very high quality of our program and the excellence of our faculty,” said Dr. Judith Erickson, Dean of JU’s College of Health Sciences.

Such a high rate speaks to the quality and rigor of the BSN program at the JU School of Nursing, said Prof. Cheryl Bergman, director of undergraduate programs.

“The goal of all our undergraduate BSN students is to pass the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination) and begin their careers as professional nurses,” she said. “The expertise among the faculty and staff, and their dedication to support students while maintaining a high performance standard adds to this accomplishment. Students, faculty, administration and staff are to be congratulated.”
