College Night at the Fair: JU prevails

A team representing Jacksonville University roped, milked, corn-holed, duck-walked and suitcase-raced their way to the Greater Jacksonville Fair College Night championship on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

It was the fourth consecutive year the Dolphins prevailed in the livestock arena competition with other college teams including the University of North Florida, University of Florida, University of Georgia, Florida A&M University, and The Citadel.

The prize: $1,000 for the JU general scholarship fund.

JU alumni, staff and Student Alumni Association members participated in the fun. Mike Bobbin ’72 was recognized by the fair announcer for having competed in the past 10 suitcase races and longtime team captain Pat Reeves and Director of Physical Plant Joe Coleman placed first in cow roping.
